BillRun’s management team participated in the AfricaCom exhibition and conference for telecommunications which took place in Cape Town, South Africa in mid-November.

During the three days of the exhibition attended by more than 10,000 visitors representing telecommunications equipment and solution providers from Africa, Europe, the U.S. and Asia, BillRun’s booth - situated in the Israel Export Institute pavilion – attracted considerable attention, presenting its open-source mobile solutions for CSPs, operators and telco solution providers.

As Africa is still 99% based on pre-paid, BillRun’s pay-as-you-go, feature-rich, flexible pre-paid system is particularly attractive to this market, with overall performance considered to be one of fastest systems available today.  The importance of this year’s conference was evident in light of the rapid revolution which Africa is undergoing in smartphone use, with over half a billion users across the continent – a number expected to reach 725 million by 2020, which presents a huge opportunity for mobile data services who will be able to cater to this growing market.
