FreeTV relies on BillRun’s fully managed platform for billing, payments, customer management, digital onboarding, business processes, and operational integrations.
FreeTV, the Israeli streaming television service owned by Keshet, uses the BillRun platform to manage the core business and operational systems supporting its subscription service.
BillRun’s platform manages the subscriber lifecycle from end to end: from digital registration, package selection, and payment setup through account activation, recurring billing, collections, customer service, and subscription management.
The original implementation was completed ahead of FreeTV’s launch in 2023 and included billing, payments, collections, CRM, digital customer onboarding, a self-service customer portal, and integrations with FreeTV’s other core systems.
Today, BillRun continues to operate and support these systems as part of a fully managed service, providing FreeTV with both the underlying technology and the ongoing technical and operational expertise required to run it.
Managing the Subscriber Lifecycle
BillRun provides FreeTV with an integrated set of systems covering the main stages of the customer journey.
Billing, Payments, and Collections
The BillRun billing platform manages subscriptions, packages, recurring charges, payment methods, payment processing, and collection processes.
Its flexible architecture allows business rules, pricing models, and subscription processes to be adjusted as FreeTV’s commercial requirements evolve.
CRM and Customer Management
The CRM platform provides FreeTV’s customer service and operational teams with a consolidated view of customers, subscriptions, interactions, and service-related activity.
By connecting CRM capabilities with billing and other operational systems, FreeTV teams can access the information they need without working across disconnected platforms.
Digital Onboarding and Self-Service
FreeTV customers can complete the registration process digitally, select a subscription package, provide a payment method, and activate their service without requiring manual assistance from a representative.
The platform also supports self-service capabilities that allow customers to manage relevant aspects of their account and subscription online.
Business Process Automation and Integrations
FreeTV uses workflow and automation capabilities, including n8n, to manage business processes and integrations between its operational systems.
This architecture makes it possible to introduce new processes, modify existing workflows, and connect additional systems without rebuilding the core platform. The original solution also included BI and management dashboards for reporting, control, and operational monitoring.
A Fully Managed Service, Not Just a Software Platform
BillRun’s role extends beyond supplying software.
Under the BillRun Fully Managed Service, BillRun is responsible for the ongoing operation and technical management of the platform. This includes system monitoring, maintenance, technical support, incident handling, implementation of changes, and the introduction of new business processes.
The systems are hosted on Amazon Web Services, enabling infrastructure resources to be adjusted according to operational requirements. The original project documentation also describes BillRun’s ongoing managed-service responsibility for FreeTV’s systems.
This model allows FreeTV to focus on its television service, content offering, customer experience, and business growth, while BillRun’s teams manage the business-critical systems operating behind the service.
A Long-Term Technology Partnership
“FreeTV demonstrates BillRun’s ability to serve not only as a software provider, but as a complete technology and operational partner. Our platform manages the subscriber lifecycle and the core business processes behind the service, while our fully managed service provides the operational continuity, flexibility, and technical expertise required to support an evolving digital subscription business,” said Ofer Cohen, CEO of BillRun Technologies.
BillRun’s modular architecture allows FreeTV to expand the solution, introduce new integrations, and modify business processes without replacing its core systems.
This flexibility is particularly important for digital subscription services operating in competitive markets, where companies must be able to launch new offerings and adapt customer journeys quickly while maintaining stable and reliable operations.
